Bring your own AI key
Klyna supports five free-tier AI providers. You bring the key, the key stays on your server, and Klyna never proxies prompts through our infrastructure.
Updated June 10, 2026
The Klyna AI assistant is opt-in and BYOK — bring your own key. The key lives in your own WordPress or Shopify database, never on klyna.dev.
Supported providers
All five are free at the tier Klyna uses by default. Pick whichever you already have an account with.
| Provider | Free model used by default | Where to get a key |
|---|---|---|
| OpenRouter | meta-llama/llama-3.1-8b-instruct:free | openrouter.ai/keys |
| Groq | llama-3.1-8b-instant | console.groq.com/keys |
| Google Gemini | gemini-1.5-flash | aistudio.google.com/apikey |
| Cloudflare Workers AI | @cf/meta/llama-3.1-8b-instruct | dash.cloudflare.com (Workers AI) |
| Ollama (local) | llama3.1:8b | install ollama.com |
Where to paste it
- WordPress: Klyna → Settings → AI assistant.
- Shopify: Apps → Klyna → Settings → AI.
- Extension: Options → AI key.
Daily cap
By default Klyna stops at 100 AI calls per day so a runaway suggestion loop
cannot drain your quota. Raise or lower it in the same settings panel
(klyna_settings.ai_daily_cap).
What never gets sent
Page content goes to the provider you chose, scoped to the audit prompt only. Klyna never sees your key, your prompt, or the response. If you delete the key the assistant disables itself on the next page load.
